DETROIT - The top-seeded Wayne State baseball team dropped a 5-2 decision to the No. 4 seed University of Findlay (22-24) on Thursday in the opening round of the 2005 GLIAC Baseball Tournament at WSU Baseball Field. The Warriors (31-16) will face Saginaw Valley State, who lost to Grand Valley in 11 innings, Friday at 1:00 pm. UF and GVSU will start the day in a 10:00 am game.
Findlay second baseman Nick Morris gave the Oilers a 2-0 lead on a home run over the left field wall off starter Kyle Hill (Mississauga, Ont.). UF add a single run on Adam Bateson's third inning lead-off homer and another run in the third for a 4-0 lead.
Oiler starter Chris Antonides got the Warriors to go three-up, three-down in the first three innings. But back-to-back singles by Jason Chapieski (Windsor, Ont.) and Bobby Marten (Allen Park, Mich.) broke up the no-hitter. Then senior Frank Jeney (Windsor, Ont.) singled up the middle to score Chapieski.

Wayne State rallied for a run in the eighth as left fielder Gerry Dufour (LaSalle, Ont.) reached on a throwing error by the shortstop and scored on Marten's RBI double one out later. But the Warriors couldn't get any more scoring as they left two runners on base the final two innings.
Hill, who falls to 9-3, gave up five runs on 10 hits and struck out seven UF batters. Findlay's Antonides evens his record at 4-4 on the season.
