Three Former WSU Football Players Part of Championship Team

Former Wayne State University football players Nick Body, Nate Collins and Mike Johnson were part of the 2008 Continental Indoor Football League champion Saginaw Sting squad.

Body (2002-06 WSU letterwinner) was named MVP of last Sunday's 41-37 championship game win over the Kalamazoo Xplosion. He had 12 receptions for 156 yards and three touchdowns. During the regular season, Body had 66 catches for a league-leading 849 yards and a CIFL best 28 touchdowns.

Collins (2001-02 WSU letterwinner) made four catches in the championship game win including one for a touchdown. In the regular season, Collins had 24 receptions for 242 yards and five touchdowns. He also averaged 16.9 yards on 37 kickoff returns including one for a touchdown.

Johnson (2000-03 WSU letterwinner) was one of the owners of the Sting.

Other former WSU players competing in the third season of the CIFL were Bobby Boyer (Flint Phantoms), Brandon Dinkins (Milwaukee Bonecrushers) and Randy Hutchison (Kalamazoo Xplosion). Boyer (2004-05 WSU letterwinner) had 38 catches for 517 yards and seven touchdowns. Dinkins lettered in 2002 for WSU, while Hutchison was a 2001-03 WSU letterwinner.
